I was looking for dinner after a long day of walking in the city and visiting all the tourist attractions and this restaurant was just the prefect place. The location makes it very convenient to visit as it’s close to the Taksim Square. The atmosphere was very warm, comfortable and intimate, the food was delicious and just the prefect portions, but what made me want to write this review was the service, the service was outstanding the staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and meticulous, they made me feel very comfortable. It’s a little pricey but I believe it worth visiting.
Easily the top dining experience my husband and I had while in Istanbul! Highly recommend getting a tasting menu. We opted for the 7 course and it was more than enough. The food was phenomenal and our server, Denise, who was incredibly attentive made our dinner that much more memorable!
We had a fantastic meal here. It was Turkish comfort food but elevated. Everything was delicious, flavourful, and well portion. The variety in the set menu was stunning. Beef dumpling and morel dishes were a highlight!
I had lunch here during my solo trip to Istanbul and was delighted by the flavours, quality of the food and courteous service. The fermented lightly spiced yoghurt sauce that is served over the mantisi surprised me and was a favourite. Really enjoyed the pear and dried beef salad the fresh walnuts were a great addition. A mound of braised thinly sliced beetroot with sour cherries toasty hazelnuts and ezine was so good in the eating of it, highly recommend it as a hearty main course. With how the meal was going, I couldn't resist having dessert, the kadiyif. The server graciously answered all my questions about ingredients and cooking. All in all an inspiring meal, just the thing I needed.
Loved it. Highly recommended. Perfectly dark and cosy atmospher lets you focus on your food and your company. Staff friendly and well informed about the menu. We had your 7 course tasting menu that we felt was the perfect number of dishes. Was a vegetable strong menu that displayed Turkish cuisine and local ingredients that wasn't scared to flirt with what influences the city. Cocktails were great too.
An excellent last meal to cap off my two weeks in this country. I have eaten more amazing yogurt dips and kebabs and baklavas than I can count but YL’s flavours have been the most unique by far and each course was bursting with flavour. I did the 7 course tasting menu and wine pairing and it is more than enough and took me almost 3 hours to finish. Highly recommend and shout out to Tolga for the attentive service.
This place has always been on top of my favourite restaurants in istanbul and one of the few restaurants which never dissapointed my expectations and offered the same taste since its first day.
Their “limited” açma (pastry from the oven) is one of the best you can find anywhere.
Personally though, I do find it a tad sad m that for a while noe they do offer their signature manti only on the lunchmenu and just as a single starter dish on the tasting menus without the aubergine option!
Also bear in mind that the restaurant is quite dark! A couple times we even need our phonelights to read the menu.
Absolutely amazing experience! We didn’t do the tasting menu and I deeply regret that. The drinks, food, service, and atmosphere are 5 star.
